Digital Composites

The works in Micha Nussinov’s Digital Composites sit at the intersection between photography and painting. Arising from his desire to manipulate his own photography, Micha’s progression into digital composites was a natural step for an artist whose practice is so characterised by exploration and coalescence. Depicted in paint-like textures, but with an underlying and unshakable digital sensibility, these works have an uncanny quality to them, offering the illusion of painting while resisting any precise replication of the medium.

Many of them are deeply psychedelic, featuring technicolour palettes and kaleidoscopic shapes, altered to the point where the original image is no longer distinguishable. Often these works document familiar people, places and landscapes, in both urban and natural settings, exploring the intimate connections between friends and family and the spaces around them.
